A Little Bit Behind...

I have not blogged in a while and there has been so much that has happened so prepare for a PICTURE OVERLOAD! Ready?? Here we go!!

One of my dearest friends from highschool Adrianne drove down from Philly to come have lunch with me and Cal! This is in Cheesecake Factory in the Inner Harbor!
Jess and I stayed with one of my roommates Melissa (pictured below) in NYC last weekend! We rode the Bolt Bus up, which was so fun, and NO parking a car weeee!! We saw the sights and had a BLAST! I wanted to move to Central Park! Not much time for explanations of all our adventures that we had, but here are a few of the highlights!:

Subway fun!
We will never forget. This flag is right in front of Ground Zero, and below I am standing with Calvin in front of the site.

Ahh, Central Park! I loved climbing these rocks! And the views and overall general feel of the place made me fall in Love! I asked Jess if we could move here! haha

Two weekends in a row in August and the beg of September we went to DC to see some of the museums and the memorials again. We still have SO MUCH MORE to see there, but at least have seen most of it!
Calvin on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and at Capital Hill!
We got to see the Museum of Natural History, as well as the Air and Space Museum! Below, Jess and I were having wayyy too much fun playing on a model of an American Airlines plane!

Out of all the memorials, I think that the Lincoln is by far my favorite!

We went back to the White House, and Calvin WOULD NOT stop crying! The entire time we were in front of it he sobbed!

Whew! Enough pics for you?? Hope you enjoyed!

Catch Me if You Can!

Hmm..what have I been up to you might ask? Or maybe no one is asking or cares, but reguardless I am going to share with you!

*Got Calvin to drink bottles (go me!) after much crying on both our parts he finally gave in. I am still nursing a little bit, but am phasing out little by little. He is such a big boy! And I am loving the fact that I no longer have to worry about nursing him wherever we go! I am a FREE woman! Wahoo! Well, at least free from Calvin needing the hoots.

* I have ventured into some unknown territory for me: running outdoors! Our good, (no great) friends Jeremiah and Jenna Baker arrived from the Chicago office to do post season selling. It has been so fun, and Jenna and I have had an instant bond since the day we met back in April in Kansas City! She is a bestie for life :) It helps too that she has a little baby Amiah who is 2 weeks older than Cal, and the two of us share the same interests, as well as are both very motivated to get back into our pre-baby shape! She is an avid outdoors runner, and I am an indoors one, so I decided to give it a shot! It's alot different, but I am loving it so far!

*This week I ran 14 miles! Next week: 20!

* While on the subject of getting into shape, my grand total weight loss so far this summer is......drum roll please..........15 pounds! Go me!! And still counting, I am not down to my pre baby weight (5 stubborn mule pounds to go) but I am hoping that once I am completely done nursing that I will be able to drop the rest.

* I know that I always post on here that I am going to write children's books and write in general, and have never gotten around to it. But this past month I have put my head down and any free moment I have had has been towards the cause of writing! Alas, no children's books this time, although I still have tons of ideas I NEED to get down, but I am writing two books. Yes books. More to come on that.....You'll just have to wait and see :)

*Since we only have a few weeks left here in good ole' Baltimore Jess and I have been sightseeing as much as we can! Last weekend we headed to DC to see some of the museums we haven't seen yet with the Bakers who have never been. (I'll post this with some pics later) and this Labor Day weekend I think we will head back down there to see everything else we want to see before we leave! Then next weekend we are headed to NYC for two and a half days! Yeahh!!! Canal street and designer knock-off heaven here I come! I booked our Bolt Bus tickets and cannot wait! We are going to stay with one of my old roomies from Logan whom I haven't seen in over year and she lives in Manhattan! Good times are ahead!

Well, enough blogging. Since Calvin is still peacefully slumbering I think I should get some writing on my projects accomplished!
