Move Over Martha

Jamie and I went to a baby shower for our friend Amber this past Saturday, and she had the lovely idea of making a diaper cake. I have seen them before at showers and thought they were so cute and thought they were hard to make, but I was so wrong! I am so happy about how it turned out that I am going to be making them for every baby shower I go to now. Thanks Jamie for bringing out my crafty side- I knew it was in there somewhere :) Amber and I, man I kinda miss having a belly!

Eat your heart out Martha.

Aloha!!

We got back on the 14 from an amazing 8 day trip to Oahu in Hawaii! It was much much needed from our busy summer, and we sure did have a blast! I won't write a ton since I put up a bajillion zillion (yes that's a real number) pictures!

Here's our whole group! This is after the FAB show at the Polynesian Cultural Center! My favorite part? The women Tahitian dancers w/their super fast hip shakin' and the fire dancers!
probably our fav spot of the week: Waimea Bay! Fun rocks to jump off of, big waves and we swam with sea turtles!!! snorkeling in Hanauma Bay! We saw a 4 foot black eel! It was so scary but I couldn't stop following it!

they have the coolest trees here!
Our last day at Sunset Beach on North Shore. We pretty much spent every day in North Shore!

We made sure to go see Pearl Harbor. I learned so many things I never knew! We toured the USS Arizona Memorial, which was so sad. The ship still lies under the water, and the memorial is built over it. The gas tank is still leaking and you can see the oil in the water!

the fire dancers I talked about earlier! They actually sat on the fire at one point! It was soo cool!
We went to two swap meets: One at the Hawaii Football stadium which was NUTS! And this one smack dab in the middle of Waikiki! Great shopping :D
This is a cool snail we saw! He had a lot of exposure as our group found him fascinating! Hawaii is famous for rainbows!

Beach in Waikiki On North Shore there is a little slice of heaven called Matsumomo's. They are famous for their shaved ice and it is delish!!! They put ice cream on the bottom which makes it even more amazing, or you can have the local favorite of these Japanese red beans at the bottom which is disgusting (we tried!)

nothing like a sunset (or sunrise) at the beach!! Pipeline on North Shore Beautiful Hanauma Bay before we headed down to go snorkeling!

What a trip! We had a blast and met some amazing new friends! But, I was sooooo glad to get home to my monkey! He had a really great time with his grandparents, aunt uncle and three cousins, but he was so thrilled to see us!
And on top of everything else, we are finally moved into our house fully in Utah. ahhhh! Feels great!! Good to be home, and tan:) Sorry had to throw that in there!

Busy Little Bees

We did make it to Utah all who were wondering! It was a long trip, but Calvin was such a trooper! He hardly cried EVER the entire three day journey! What an amazing little baby boy I have :) We are still in the course of unpacking our house and enjoying being back here, MAN how I missed our house! A one bedroom apartment was feeling so incredibly cramped! But just as soon as we are back we are heading out again! We are driving up to Rexburg tomorrow where we will stay until Thursday when we fly to Hawaii for 7 days!! I am SO excited! The only thing I am worried about is leaving Calvin....it will be the first time I have been more than a few hours away from him! He will be staying with Jess's parents, and I am not at all worried about his safety or anything like that, I am just so anxious thinking about leaving him for the first time and for a week no less! I'm sure all first time Mothers go through this, and I hear it's always hard leaving your first baby the first time. I know it will all be great, and Calvin will have so much fun being with his Grandparents, and with his Aunt Uncle and three cousins, but I know he will have some sad times missing Jess and I. And I know he will not be happy with us at all when we do get back which will be so hard for me, but it's gotta happen.
Anyways, other than feeling bad about leaving Calvin I am STOKED for our trip to the warm sunny beautiful beaches of Hawaii!
Well my fellow bloggers, til we meet again...:)
