Visiting Jess Pt.1

Boy! Does it feel good to be in the City of Fountains again my old stomping grounds for a few years and especially to see Jess!! Our first weekend together was so nice I really think I'm going to have a harder time leaving next week than last time!
I got in late Friday night and we just pretty much went to bed. Saturday after Jess was done we went out to dinner to Outback with all the guys from the office which was fun! Then Jess and I went to see "Get Smart" which is hilarious!
Sunday we decided to head downtown. It's so hard during the summers because Sundays are never for this kind of stuff, but when your husband does summer sales Sundays after church also become a fun day. What can I say?
We decided to go and see the National WWI museum which was really cool. We spent a good 2 hours in there and still didn't get to see it all because they closed early.
We were driving downtown and happened upon this cool graffiti! So we had to stop!

Ok for any of you who met my old doggie or saw pics of him..tell me that is NOT a graffiti version of Mr. Higgins? haha

So our first two days have been fun and I am currently awaiting his arrival tonight! I need to think of something good to make for dinner since he hasn't really had a good home cooked meal since he left. Not that I'm a chef or anything but it'll be nice for him to have me cook instead of him having to when he gets home late!

Break From Packing

I am currently taking a break from packing to go and see my honey again tomorrow which I am ecstatic about! I didn't want to leave the first time. It was like I was used to being apart as bad as it sounds and then as soon as I was with him again I did NOT want to leave. I bawled at the airport like a child...no lie!...and after he was gone I cried my eyes out all the way through security until I got onto my plane..I didn't care who was looking and how awful I looked, I felt pitiful and wasn't afraid to show it! So..anywho I get to see him again tomorrow for 12 days this time! yay!!!
Anyways, thought I'd just blog about random stuff in my life going on. I still try to get to the pool as often as I can stand the heat! I usually just end up in the pool the entire time because I get so dang hot! Here's me and Aly at the local community pool in Provo which is always fun. We went this day with a bunch of good friends. This picture however was taken just moments before my top decided it wanted to spring off of my body..almost like it had a mind of it's own! Yeah...embarassingly enough I flashed pretty much the entire pool! Oh well...

I had my second ultrasound this past Tuesday! I love seeing my son! It was kind of nerve wracking when they were making sure that he had all his vital organs, a brain, and bones! But once we were done that I could relax. He was such a stinker though he was laying face down in a ball and would not budge so she could see him easier! I love this picture though of his little foot! Those cute feet are what kicks me all day and all night long!
This one might be hard for some of you to tell, but if you can see him you can definitely tell he's a boy! Think of him sitting on a glass table and you're looking up at him so you can see his bum in the bottom right hand corner and his legs are going diagonally right up and his little man parts are in the middle of course :)

When we were trying to get this picture he lifted up his arm and started waving!! I almost died it was so cute!
So anyways, I can't wait to see Jess tomorrow I can't even begin to explain how hard this summer has been without him! I can't remember crying this much in a long time, but everything going on with my Mom and then on top of it all being pregnant and overly emotional from that doesn't help much! But I'm sure I'll be posting about my trip with my boo once I'm home!

Running and I are on a break

Dear running,

It's not that our relationship is bad it's the complete opposite! You have been so good to me these past years and have brought me great joy and contentment. The harsh reality is that I am simply too big now to enjoy the perks of what you can bring me. I am just too uncomfortable to run at this stage. So, for now I am going to resentfully be with your good friend walking for a while, just until after the baby and I can run again! No hard feelings! We will reunite again I promise.

Sincerely yours,

Heather

18 weeks....I think!!

Thought I'd post some baby bump pics since I've been kind of slacking on it!! They say I'm 18 weeks..but no one really knows! It's actually kind of frustrating for me! So this Tuesday at my next ultrasound I'm going to see if they can give me a definite! All my friends and family think I'm bigger than 18 weeks..what do you think??

fun-filled week!

This week was so fun filled I just couldn't handle it all! On Thursday night we celebrated my parents 33 wedding anniversary by going to a fun Bee's game in SLC! It was kind of chilly that night, unusually for June in Utah but the game was still fun! we sat right behind home plate!

My goal this summer is to actually get tan, which I haven't been able to do the past three summers because I've worked in the office for Jess and never saw the light of day!! haha, but after laying out one day I got horribly burned on my poor baby belly! I felt so bad I felt like I burnt the baby! But I am slowly and surely going to be black this summer!!
Saturday morning, me, Aly, and our good friend Elise went hiking up at Bridal Veil falls! It was such a beautiful day out it was perfect. So we picked up lunch from yummy Kneaders in Orem and had a picnic before we started our hike. Elise brought her adorable dachsaund Cooper who has such a blast with us! When we finally got in the car to drive home he was dead asleep!
We played in the water as long as we could stand..it was FREEZING! But Cooper sure loved it!
Aly and I standing at the bottom of the falls, we didn't climb all the way up because I know I couldn't have! But it was still pretty to at least look at that day!
Aly, Elise, Coop, and me on our hike up the trail!
My baby is already a good little hiker!

Saturday night was SummerFest in Orem! There was a huge carnival and a parade that actually started right behind my parents house on 8th East. It was a madhouse! We practically had a barnyard in the backyard! There were at least 12 horses lined up against the fence waiting to go out, but that meant lots of poop! It smelled pretty bad! But it was nice because I didn't have to leave the house to see the parade I just had to sit on the back porch! As it started to get dark, I met up with my friends Abbie & Nico and Jamie & Craig who also brought their daughter Aysa, and Nico's friend Mike and his wife Kylie, and Abbie and Jamie's mom came too with their neice Hailey to see the fireworks! We ate some carnival food which the wait was horrible for! Jamie and I stood in line for almost 40 minutes and we missed the beginning of the fireworks which is what we had come to the carnival to see! But once we finally got our food we booked it to our blankets and caught the rest of the show which was good! I love fireworks!!
What a fun week and weekend! And now today we're celebrating Father's Day! We're going to grill steaks for my Dad and we all chipped in and are surprising him with a sweet set of golf clubs! He's going to be sooooo happy! So happy father's day to all you dad's out there!!

Just Like His Daddy!

So my little peanut is already so much like his father it's scary! Jess if any of you know him personally is SUCH a night owl, and has been since he was a little tyke. It appears that our son still in my belly is just like him! He likes to bounce around inside me alllll night longgggg! But he's really active during the day too! Maybe he just doesn't sleep! I still love to feel all the kicks and wiggles though and now other people can feel them too! So it's nice to not be the only one who gets to enjoy the ninja kicks!

I Need A Vacation!!

I have been extremely bummed because I really REALLY want to go on vacation! I even look at dream way to expensive vaca's online just because I want to go so badly! Before we found out that I had a beautiful bun in the oven, we had two fun vacations planned for this fall! One is our company cruise again, which will probably be in either October again or December. Both of which don't work for me! :( booo!! But the real painful vaca that we have to postpone for at least a year was our huge trip to Thailand and China. The day we found out I was pregnant Jess and I celebrated and were crying and sooo excited, and then I was suddenly like "Oh no! Now we have to cancel our trip to China!!!" Don't get me wrong though folks...I am excited MORE THAN WORDS that I'm having a child, we have been wanting one for a while now, but I had really been looking forward to that trip! Jess' brother Sam has a really good friend in Seattle with him who is Chinese, and his family goes back to visit once a year because they still have family there, and they've taken Sam and his wife. This year, they invited us to come along too! So we planned out our trip over a year ago to be this October for at least 2 weeks, and about 6 months ago got a hook up in Thailand as well! So we would go to Thailand for about 6 days, and then jet over to China for the rest and stay with Sam's friends family! So we would have tourguides who spoke Chinese and knew where to go, as well as a free place to stay in Beijing! Sounds amazing right? Welp, I'll just have to wait one more year!! Because as sad as I am about postponing our trip, I cannot wait to become a Mommy and meet my beautiful little boy!

So while I've been thinking about vacations I thought I'd reminisce about all of our fun vacations Jess and I have been on.

In chronological order, the fall that Jess and I were engaged we went on a cruise for his old pest control company that he worked for the week of Halloween. It was the first vacation I had been on with him, and we weren't even married yet! But it was really fun, and even though I roomed with this total diva girl who worked in his company I still had a blast! We went from Long Beach to Catalina and then to Ensenada, Mexico. Halloween night was a huge costume party on the boat, and Jess wore this beyound hysterical outift as a 70's personal trainer. It consisted of a wig, mustache, sweat band, lightweight total 70's zip up which he wore completely opened, and MY volleyball shorts. And when we showed up at dinner that night I kid you not when I tell you that no one from his company even recognized him! But once they figured it out everyone was laughing so hard people could hardly eat!
Secondly, you can't forget our honeymoon! Don't worry I'll keep it G rated kids :) We flew off to beautiful St. Maarten, a French/Dutch island in the Caribbean. It was gorgeous! We rented a little toaster car and drove across the island to our beautiful resort! Sam and Mary as a wedding gift lent us their timeshare so not only was our trip amazing it was cheap! We had a blast starting our eternal lives together snorkeling, eating lots of fruit and soaking up the sun! And despite all of the nasty europeans who were there and not clothed we made the best of it!Pretty much my favorite trip ever so far was our trip back to Jess' mission in the Dominican Republic with Sam and Mary, and their two friends. For 2 wondrous days we explored Santo Domingo which is where Jess was his whole mission. We saw the 3rd world side of the island which was very eye-opening and heart breaking, Christopher Columbus' supposed burial spot, and even got to see some of his friends who were still there! Then we drove up to the Northern part of the island to our resort for the remaining 8 days of our trip! We had a blast going to the beach, playing sand volleyball, kayaking, kitesurfing, and even drove into the jungle and climbed up 27 waterfalls which we could then slide down like a waterslide! It was such an amazing trip and I can't wait to go back! And finally our most recent trip was the Homeshield Cruise this past fall. We sailed from Miami to Nassau where the amazing Atlantis resort is, and then off to Coco Cay which was Royal Caribbean's own private island. Then from there we went to Key West, and that was an experience I'd like to forget! We landed right in the middle of a thing called "fantasy fest" which is almost like their own Mardi Gras. It's a huge celebration that attracts alot of gay and lesbians. Now don't get me wrong I have no problem whatsoever with the gay community, but I felt a bit uncomfortable at how many naked and pretty much naked people were walking around! And like mardi gras, women were flashing for beads. In fact Jess and I stopped at a red light in front of a very popular spot to do so and that was the LONGEST red light EVERRRR haha! So, we decided to stop at a cool pirate place for lunch and went to go see the bottom of the US, and then just decided to go back onto the boat and swim at the pool for a while! But besides that our trip was so fun! It was a great end to a really hard summer and very well deserved by Jess and all the other guys in the company!
So pretty much, I'm yearning for a vacation! But hopefully soon I'll get to go on one. But for now I'm just looking forward to my little peanut being born in November!

What I've Been Up To

Since being back from Kansas I've been trying to keep pretty busy! My kids I nanny are now out for the summer so I'll be at their house more and more which is good! Creed, the autistic one the other day when I was there kept calling me Mom, and it melted my heart! Hannah is always always glued right to my side when I'm there and Calvin I think has a crush on me (soo cute!) so he is usually trying to do some amazing feat to impress me. I really love this job and this family so I'm having alot of fun!
My sundays are quite busy in the nursery but I love it! I'm over one of the 2-year-old classes and my kids are so fun! There 's a partially deaf boy named Casey in my class, and I love being able to use my ASL skills from all the classes I took at Utah State and sign to him and I can tell he really enjoys it too! I'm amazed how much ASL I actually remember! I also really like the fact that i have gotten to know alot of the younger mothers better because when they come to get their kids we get to talk too! So I'm making more friends in my ward and actually feeling social which is good!
I feel like I've taken a step back with my pregnancy though..I was feeling great but for the past week or so I have woken up extremely nauseas every morning, and for some odd reason brushing my teeth now makes me vomit almost every single time! It drives me nuts! Maybe I need a different toothpaste? Who the heck knows..but I want this to go AWAY!!
