I'M ALIIIIVE!!!

So, I haven't exactly posted in a long time, or done anything else for that matter. I have been SO sick. Sick enough that I haven't been able to really do much else than lay around all day long. Jess left last Monday and I was so upset and mortified that didn't help AT ALL. He really did not want to leave at all, but this summer will be so good for the both of us financially wise that we know it must be done.
I have since then basically moved in with my parents, because I was too sick to even take care of myself or the stinkin' dog. My Mom and Dad have been saints. My Mom especially, she has been at my side for everything I have needed, whether it be crackers, water, soup, or a bucket to puke in! And the best part of it all that just melts my heart is that she is so sick herself. She's had pink eye, a horrible lung infection and a bloody blister on her ear drum, and will be starting her chemo very soon, and the fact that she just has put herself on the backburner to help me in my horrible morning (more like all day sickness) has been such a blessing for me. I'm crying right now just typing it. My Mother is an angel and I could never tell her enough how much I love her and appreciate everything she still does for me. My Dad also gave me a really good blessing that has helped not only lift my spirits but made me feel better all around.
My parents ROCK! And now that I only have one week (fingers crossed!) left of being sick to my stomach all day long, I'm kinda excited about being pregnant again! Is that a bad thing to say? Well, when I was sick 24/7 I had to sometimes just get on my knees and thank Heavenly Father again for the blessing of this amazing child, because it's kind of hard tobe excited when you're sick! So, here's to a much happier pregnancy from here on out!!
ps- I'm flying out to see Jess as soon as I'm feeling better too :) So don't worry!

SURPRISE!!

For those of you who don't know......WE'RE PREGNANT!!! :D On October 15th our first child will be born hooray!! We are sooooooo excited and happy! It's absolutely crazy and amazing how the Lord has a perfect plan set out for us! We have been trying for a while, and after months of nothing happening we were frustrated! We had actually given up and were just going to start trying again when Jess gets back from Kansas City after the summer, but lo and behold, I went to my doctor last week and I'm almost 2 and a half months pregnant!! I had NO idea! What an amazing blessing! :) I have not been able to stop smiling, or crying for that matter! Definintely doesn't help that I'm already and emotional person and adding the emotions of being pregnant on top of it!
But it actually works out perfectly, because Jess is leaving this weekend, and he will be back in September, PERFECT!! We'll fly back and forth until I can't,and then he'll just fly here probably once a month hopefully!
I could not be more grateful for my blessings and for the Lord in our life! He has blessed us so much, and definitely heard our many many prayers!
We're having a baby! YAY!!

My First Book!

Well, I wrote my first children's book! It started off as a poem, but I decided to make it into a book! I am still working on the pictures, which will be watercolor :) so you'll have to wait for that! But for now, enjoy the text!!

"The Old Oak and the Nymph"
The old oak stood proudly among his fellow trees. His long branches stretched high and flowed softly with the breeze.
If you were to stand very, very still and gaze up into the leaves so high, a solitary wood nymph you would spy.
Such a beautiful creature is she! Emerald hair like the wind, skin soft as petals, and big eyes violet as can be.
She loved that old tree as much as one could. Branch to branch she would sail; she loved the feel and smell of his wood.
He gave her shade in the summer, spring gave her new buds so small, winter gave her shelter, and vibrant colors in the fall.
She would climb up to the highest branches and see the landscape that surrounded her and the tree. For a long time it was lush and green as far as the eye could see, but one day the green little by little began to disappear. How could this be?
Then one morning, the nymph was awakened by a horrible loud sound. She peered through the leaves to look and discovered a man pulling up in a big truck was the source of the noise that shook the ground.
Creeping down a little closer, she saw the man get out of the truck to come have a look at the great old tree with awe. He stared high into the branches, almost spotting the nymph, then walked back to the truck and revved up a very loud chainsaw!
The nymph cried out in horror as the man touched the blade to the tree, not realizing it was wrong. She clutched to the branches and threw her arms around her oak as she knew their time together was not long.
With one final cut, the man gave the tree a shove to send it off. The tree crashed down, and in one final act of love managed to break her fall in his leaves so soft.
Stunned from the fall, she lay in the safety of the branches not wanting to leave her friend so dear. But as more men appeared and started to load it onto the truck, she knew she needed to leave her beloved here.
Gently, she touched her petal soft lips to the the trunk of that beautiful tree, and with tears streaming she carefully made her escape making sure no man could see.
When all was quiet, she made her way down to the stump, laid down and wept. "Goodbye," she whispered sadly, her tears falling upon the raw cut wood, until there in a ball she slept.
The early morning light shone upon the nymph's beautiful face, and once she was awake she remembered the horrible event that the day before had taken place.
She looked around wondering what she should do now, and that she needed to move on, but where? Suddenly, she reached up and noticed that something was tangled in her emerald hair!
Pulling it out, she held it up to see in the soft light of that beautiful 'morn. With a cry of delight, she held the object close to her heart. For you see, the old oak had left her one final gift, an acorn!
Still holding her gift so precious she began to look around, and realized with sheer joy that there were acorns blanketing the ground!
"Thank you," she whispered as again the tears began to flow. She quickly set to planting all the seeds so that they would grow.
A more tragic parting of the old oak and the nymph who loved him could not be sung. But with the acorns left behind, more beautiful trees and a new life was begun.

Well there it is! It still needs alot of work, but that's my little story! And don't you worry, I've got an entire series of Mr. Higgins books in the works too! :)

TAGGED!!

A: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
B: At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

What were you doing 10 years ago? Well, hopefully I don't make everyone feel old, but ten years ago I was about to turn 12, and in seventh grade. I was getting ready for softball to start and summer swimming! There was nothing else a 12 year old could really do I guess, hmm..
5 things on my "to-do" list today: (well technically tomorow since it's way late)
1. GYM
2. Do some laundry..yayyyy....
3. Take Higgies for a walk
4. Call UVSC
5. Work 5-close

6 Snacks that I enjoy:
1. Yogurt, any flavor I don't care I could eat yogurt alll day
2. Fruit in general!
3. Chips and salsa
4. Cookies and milk
5. Smoothies
6. Chocolate anything

3 bad habits:
1. I'm going to have to agree with Janie and say that I would wear sweats 24/7 if I was allowed! They have always and will always be my favorite thing to wear :)
2. Worrying...I worry about everything all the time.
3. Procrastinating!!!!! nuff said

5 Places I've lived:
1. Philly
2. Logan
3. Kansas City
4. Dallas
5. Baltimore

5 Jobs I've had:
1. Lifeguard
2. Poolside Waitress
3. Administrative Assistant
4. Retail
5. Office manager for our company

5 Things people don't know about me:
1. I love to travel! Well that might be sorta obvious because we've been traveling ever since we got married! Ha! But I want to see the world!!
2. I am very self conscious around people I don't know. So people who don't know me think I'm really shy, but I'm not at all. I just get really quiet and shy around people I don't know, especially girls. Once you know me though..I'm crazy. :)
3. I really love guy movies..war movies, bloody movies you name it! I have always been a tom-boy, so I really don't mind when Jess wants to get his guy movies cuz I love 'em too! :) Don't get me wrong, I LOOVE a good girly movie!
4. I have been to court. Yes, I am a criminal!! Our house in Logan of 10 girls was known for our huge extravagant parties every so often. We decided to throw one before we all left for the summer my sophomore year. So, it got a little out of hand....and by a little I really mean ALOT. So like 500 people showed up, including the entire football team who decided it was ok to bring lots of kegs. YIKES! So me and my roommates were scrambling trying to get everyone out, but no one was listening, I think my one roommate Anny got yelled at and started crying from some guy on the hockey team! So we pretty much sat on the kitchen table amongst the chaos and waited for the cops to come. It was pretty freaking hilarious actually, we just all 6 of us ( the other 4 were out of town) sat there with our arms folded; we had given up. So, the cops of course came, and we thought they would just give us a fine or something for the noise, but NO we had citations for allowing underage drinking, and some geniuses decided to light up in OUR back yard! Great... so all 6 of us were due in court to plead our case, which we were going to plead not guilty. We seriously had NO control, and in all honesty did not invite all those people!
Our court day came, my parents flew into town to be supportive. We had no lawyer so we represented ourselves. We had each of us go up on the stand, and would question each other like lawyers. I must say it was fabulously fun to pretend to be a lawyer for the day, when am I ever going to have that chance again? So the DA was a total jerk to put it mildly. He would object to everything we said, and my Dad wanted to jump over the barricade and strangle him. But pretty much we all got so frustrated at having every word out of our mouths be objected that we were all brought to tears. The Judge totally had pity on us, and let us get it taken off our records if we all did community service. Just so you know, we were the most people tried in the Logan city court EVER...you can't say that can you? Yeah, we're famous :) Plus it'll be a good story for my kids one day!

Ok..sorry that was so long! I'm going to TAG: anyone who wants to! yayyy
